March 24, 2009 - UCLA Anderson Senior Associate Dean and Professor Alfred E. Osborne Jr. receives President’s Award.Osborne was honored by the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce with the President’s Award at the 16th annual Economic Awards Dinner on March 19. The awards are presented to individuals and corporations who have contributed to the economic growth and development of the African American economic base.

March 24, 2009 - Dolores Huerta chosen to serve as the 2009 Community Scholar. Dolores Huerta, labor leader, activist, former UC regent and co-founder of the United Farm Workers Union with César Chávez, has been chosen to serve as the 2009 Community Scholar this spring by the César Chávez Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies. Her class is entitled, “Picket Lines, Boycotts, and Action Plans.”
