Call for 2008 LAUC-LA Librarian of the Year Nominations
The Librarians Association of the University of California, Los Angeles (LAUC-LA) invites nominations from UCLA faculty, staff, and students for its 2008 Librarian of the Year award. The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 4, 2008, at 5 p.m.
This award recognizes excellence in librarianship that furthers the teaching and research mission of UCLA and responds to the intellectual, informational, and cultural needs of the university community .Candidates should embody one or more of the following: creativity, innovation, courage, leadership, or scholarly abilities. Now accepting nominations for the Fair & Open Academic Environment Award
The Academic Senate's Committee on Diversity and Equal Opportunity is currently accepting nominations for the Fair & Open Academic Environment Award, which is presented every other year to two or three individuals -- students, faculty, administrators or staff -- who have been highly successful in furthering a fair, open, and diverse academic environment at UCLA. The awards are approximately $2,000 each and consideration will be given to any contribution made during 2005-08. Nominations may come from any member of the campus community, including student groups.
Due date for nominations is March 31, 2008.
